Your Alaminos City visit and Hundred Islands National Park (HINP) eco-tour will never be complete without the Pilgrimage Island trek and seeing the 56-foot statue of Jesus Christ the Savior and the Stations of the Cross atop the island and enjoying the absolutely magnificent 360 degree view of the City's 1,844=hectare Marine Park.

Formerly known as Martha Island, Pilgrimage Island is the newest destination at the HINP covering a total of 29,931 square meters. The Jesus Christ the Savior status was opened to the public on May 1, 2017 by Mayor Arthur F. Celeste right after the concelebrated mass officiated by Bishop Ricardo L. Baccay of the Diocese of Alaminos. While, on March 28, 2018, the whole Island was declared as a Pilgrimage Site as one of the highlights of the 17th Alaminos Cityhood Anniversary celebration.

From pilgrimage route trailhead, 185-step eco-trail leads tourists and pilgrims to the Jesus Christ the Savior statue. Those who would opt to visit and complete the 14 Stations of the Cross first, could take the 1.02 kilometer trek which covers 1,413 step from the beach.

So do pace yourself as you start the trek to savor the holistic pilgrimage experience and even dare to keep going for another round in this place of prayer and worship.

The best time to be here with your whole family and circle of friends is during peak season - from September to March and summer vacation especially during the holy week to pray, reflect and venerate the images.
